Navarasa | Artale Legends 6
At the core of it, Humans are defined by 9 emotions (Navarasas). Each of these 9 emotions drive us and push us in taking decisions right from as tiny as breathing, to as humongous as making someone stop breathing. The navarasas make us lively and without them we would be lifeless, devoid of any emotions.
For this prompt, you will pick one emotion and that particular emotion will drive your MC, push your story forward for the major parts. No genre restrictions. As writers, you can interpret it in any form, even personifying the said emotion.
Premise of your story: For the first time in their life, your MC travels to another country. What happens next? Which emotion takes over their life?
Note:
- Please do not use an emotion just as a trigger for your plot conflict
- Ask yourself – can emotions have arcs?
- As yourself – what value does a new country add to the plot? Read this to see how a new country can give a new soul to your story.
Here is a catch, we have divided the emotions into 3 buckets and each bucket will impact the scoring.
Bucket 1 – Courage, Joy, Sadness (0.5 point deducted from final score)
Bucket 2 – Fear, Wonder, Love (Final score remains as is)
Bucket 3 – Disgust, Anger, Peace (0.5 added to final score)
Ps: Take risks
Example:
- Person A picks Disgust (Bucket 3) and gets an Avg rating of 9 from the judges, their final score would be (9 + 0.5) = 9.5
- Person B picks Love (Bucket 2) and gets an Avg rating of 9 from the judges, their final score would be 9
- Person C picks Joy (Bucket 1) and gets an Avg rating of 9 from the judges, their final score would be (9 – 0.5) = 8.5
One winner will be decided based on final scores.
Here is another catch, if the winner is from,
- Bucket 1 = Better Winnings = 3 Books/INR 1000 winning prize
- Bucket 2 = 2 Books/INR 600 winning prize
- Bucket 3 = Better chance of winning = 1 Book/INR 400 winning prize
Ps: Take more risks
