A chill enters my weary bones,
I shudder to think of days ahead,
Of falling snow and hissing winds,
Blizzards and squalls my life will face,
Your dry cold looks give pain that blinds.
My life and the season run together,
Like placid lake that thawed long ago,
Cold vibes to me your heart extends,
Warm feelings have since migrated
Like birds to roost in the foreign lands.
Mind reverts to brightest days,
Loveliest spring purple and pink,
When love and life started anew.
When days were golden and lovely nights
Bloom smiled down the boughs bright.
I could sense a change in your attitude,
Love went to torpor like birds in cold,
Impassioned you a hibernation require,
Your fake smiles and loveless glance,
Couldn’t extinguish the amorous fire.
Standing alone in colourless expanse,
I yearn and wait for love to return,
With boundless hope I wait for the spring,
With abundant blooms and fragrant breeze,
And mellifluous songs that heart can sing.
