“Mr. Adam?”
“Yes, speaking.”
“I’m sorry, we can’t do much about the missing complaint regarding your wife. It seems that all the women have suddenly vanished from the face of the earth overnight. We will keep you updated, though.”
‘What the hell is going on?’ Adam thought.
He muttered, wiped, cooked and went to work. But, the void remained. He wasn’t happy.
A few days later
“Oh God! Are you even listening? Help, please! I swear once she comes back, I will put the towel in its proper place, the root cause of all our arguments!” He said out aloud.
Just then, the phone rang.
“How’s it going, Adam?” The voice said.
“Is this a joke?” Adam said exasperatedly. “I was kidding when I told her ‘just get lost, I don’t want to see you ever again’, but it seems she took it seriously.”
“Ah, I guess so. Why didn’t you listen to her?” The voice said.
“I tried my best to. But it is sometimes impossible.” Adam said in resignation.
“Don’t give me that crap! When you weren’t supposed to listen to her, you did, and ate the forbidden fruit. Now, when you are supposed to listen to her, you are not doing it!” The voice yelled.
“I promise, I will listen to her. Always. In fact I will tell all men to do so. Please. Help me. Whoever you are. It’s not the same without her.”
“Okay Adam. You will now repent for your sins, your mistreatment towards her. In fact each one of your kind will. And when I’m satisfied, I will send you your grail of happiness back, your Hawwah.”
Adam sighed in relief.
Meanwhile, Hawwah smirked next to the Creator. She always got what she wanted!
